Girard-Perregaux Introduces the Laureato Absolute Chronograph 8Tech
Girard-Perregaux has introduced a new version of its popular Laureato Absolute Chronograph, the 8Tech. The new watch features a case made from a carbon and titanium composite material that gives it a darker and more modern look.
The case of the 8Tech is made from extremely fine layers of carbon fiber and titanium powder that are stacked on top of each other at different angles and then compressed under heat and pressure. This process creates a solid mass with a unique asymmetric pattern that resembles Damascus steel.
The 8Tech measures 44mm in diameter and 15.15mm thick. It has a black rubber strap with gray contrast stitching and a deployant clasp made from black PVD titanium.
The dial of the 8Tech is also black and features a sandwich construction with a luminous titanium base layer and a matte sand-blasted top layer. The chronograph registers are recessed and have a sand-blasted silver finish.
The 8Tech is powered by the Caliber GP03300-1058 automatic movement, which has a frequency of 28,800vph (4 Hz) and a power reserve of approximately 46 hours.
