Roman Josi and Norqain Launch New High-Performance Wild ONE Skeleton Watches

December 2nd 2024

Roman Josi, captain of the Nashville Predators and Norris Trophy-winning defenseman, isn’t just a hockey star—he’s also a co-founder of Swiss independent watchmaker Norqain. The brand, known for its high-performance timepieces, has just unveiled two new models: the Norqain Wild ONE Skeleton Grey 42mm and the Wild ONE Skeleton Gold.

Wild ONE Skeleton Grey: Ultra-Light, Ultra-Robust

The Wild ONE Skeleton Grey features a 42mm case made from Norqain’s proprietary carbon fiber material, Norteq. This ultra-light, shock-resistant material is six times lighter than steel and 3.5 times lighter than titanium. For added durability, the case sandwiches a black rubber shock absorber. Measuring 12.3mm thick and water-resistant to 200 meters, the watch is built to handle extreme conditions.

Key details include a black rubber-overmolded crown and a Norqain-engraved plate. The dial, designed with open-worked elements, features black-plated indices and hands coated with X1 Super-LumiNova for enhanced visibility in low light.

Wild ONE Skeleton Gold: A Touch of Luxury

The Gold model introduces 18k PX Impact red gold into the collection, offering a more luxurious look. It retains the same dimensions and shock-resistant architecture as the Grey version but includes a sandblasted titanium cage and a brown rubber shock absorber. Only 100 pieces of this model will be produced annually, adding to its exclusivity.

This watch features red gold-plated hands and indices, all lumed for visibility. Like the Grey, it showcases the Caliber NB08S, a COSC-certified automatic skeleton movement with a 41-hour power reserve, visible through a sapphire crystal caseback.

Versatile Style and Robust Performance

Both models come with Milanese-style rubber straps, animal cruelty-free and designed for comfort. The Grey version has a black strap, while the Gold version is paired with a brown one. Buckle options include grey Norteq or gold finishes.

Roman Josi shared his excitement about the release:
“This watch is exactly what I’ve always wanted. It’s ultra-light, ultra-robust, and looks stunning as a skeletonized Swiss-made mechanical watch. It transitions seamlessly from training to life outside the rink.”

Pricing and Availability

The Wild ONE Skeleton Grey is priced at $5,790 USD, while the Gold model starts at $14,150 USD and goes up to $15,950 USD, depending on the buckle option. Both are available now, delivering a blend of luxury and durability for watch enthusiasts and athletes alike.
