A Fresh Chapter for the PRX
Five years after its modern revival, Tissot’s PRX has grown into an integrated sports watch for almost every buyer, spanning a wide range of sizes, materials, complications, dial textures, movements, and price tiers. Its latest twist comes from NBA star and brand ambassador Damian Lillard. The new PRX Skeleton Damian Lillard Special Edition pairs an openworked movement with basketball-themed details, plus a pocket watch conversion that refines 2026’s most talked-about watchmaking gimmick from a Swatch Group sister brand.
An NBA-Sized Case
Measuring 44mm across, the stainless steel case scales up the familiar PRX silhouette. Broad, flat upper surfaces and integrated lugs carry deep linear brushing, while wide polished chamfers and a slim, sloping polished bezel sharpen the outline. A crisp “Dame Time” engraving on the 9 o’clock flank honors Lillard’s on-court nickname. The sapphire display caseback bears his signature in burgundy, and water resistance remains a practical 100 meters.
Pocket Watch Versatility
The real showpiece is technically not part of the case at all. A shaped burgundy leather pouch with an attached chain lets owners quickly turn the watch into a pocket watch, leaving only the dial and bezel visible. It comes across as a plusher, more horologically serious take on the Royal Pop design that dominated enthusiast discussion earlier this year.
Skeleton Work Beyond Its Price
Appealing skeletonization rarely comes cheap, yet Tissot defies expectations here. Concentric matte maroon rings frame the hour track and a 9 o’clock running seconds subdial, which carries two more “Dame Time” engravings and a gold seconds hand shaped like Lillard’s personal logo. Arabesque brushing covers the lower bridges and the cutaway mainspring barrel at 5 o’clock, contrasted by heavier linear-brushed upper bridges and matte gear train components. From behind, gold-filled engraved lettering and vivid blued screws add further flair. Tissot describes the movement only as a “Swiss Made manual winding skeleton movement,” without sharing power reserve, frequency, or accuracy figures.
Straps, Pricing, and Availability
Two burgundy straps round out the package: an integrated rubber option with a “milk crate” texture inspired by the makeshift hoops Lillard used as a child, and a tapering leather strap with a steel center link and deployant clasp.
