An Icon in Gold
At this year’s Watches and Wonders, Jaeger-LeCoultre introduced a luxurious twist on its iconic Reverso. The Reverso Tribute Monoface Small Seconds now comes in an all-gold treatment, pairing an 18k pink gold case with a stunning hand-woven pink gold Milanese bracelet. While the watch itself stays true to the Reverso’s heritage, the bracelet is where the magic happens.
A Bracelet Unlike Any Other
Though the watch retains its signature dimensions—45.6mm by 27.4mm with a slim 7.56mm thickness—the real star is the bracelet. Crafted using an astonishing 16 meters of gold thread, the Milanese mesh (or pezza, meaning “cloth” in Italian) is hand-soldered link by link. This results in an ultra-smooth, liquid-like texture that wraps around the wrist like a second skin. The redesigned lugs ensure a seamless transition between case and bracelet, while the adjustable sliding clasp guarantees a perfect fit.
A Dial That Shines
The dial features a golden matte finish with a fine-grained texture, offering a refined contrast against the polished gold case. Faceted applied indices and Dauphine-style hands preserve the classic Art Deco aesthetic, while the small seconds subdial at 6 o’clock enhances symmetry. Despite the gold-on-gold design, legibility remains intact, thanks to the polished hands and markers standing out against the dial’s grain.
Precision and Power
Inside, the manually wound Jaeger-LeCoultre Caliber 822 powers this timepiece. At just 2.93mm thick, it offers a 42-hour power reserve and is entirely developed in-house, reinforcing JLC’s reputation as the “watchmaker’s watchmaker.”
The Verdict
The pink gold Reverso Tribute Monoface Small Seconds blends heritage with modern elegance. The Milanese bracelet elevates the design, softening its formality while adding vintage-inspired sophistication. At $41,300 USD, it’s an investment—but one that epitomizes luxury and craftsmanship.
