Drawing inspiration from the namesake Jyuryoku-Maru katana, this analog timepiece enlists two master artisans to create a watch that exemplifies both brilliance and durability.
A Design Inspired by the Jyuryoku-Maru Katana
The term “San” in the watch’s name translates to “brilliant,” a nod to the gleaming katana blade and its shell-studded scabbard. The bezel, crafted from recrystallized titanium, mirrors the unique edge pattern forged by master swordsmith Kamiyama Teruhira. Layers of pure and Ti64 titanium undergo recrystallization, creating a distinct, hardened texture that ensures each watch is one of a kind.
A Stunning Case and Bracelet
The mid-case features arc ion plating on pure titanium, producing a deep blue hue reminiscent of the katana’s metal. This process, combined with diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating, enhances scratch resistance. The bracelet, designed by artist Nomura Mamoru, incorporates aogai-nuri blue shell lacquer on its center links. This mother-of-pearl inlay, inspired by Japanese scabbards, is complemented by DAT55G titanium outer links for added durability.

Beneath its artisanal beauty, the watch is powered by Casio’s advanced 5625 module. Features include Bluetooth connectivity, radio-controlled timekeeping, dual time zones, and a fully automatic calendar.
