Bravur Team Heritage: Celebrating Cycling’s Legacy

Introduction

For the past four years, Swedish brand Bravur has dedicated its focus to the Grand Tour line of chronographs. These cycling-inspired watches are now in their fourth generation, offering a vibrant array of colors and subtle nods to professional cycling. This niche is where Bravur thrives, and it’s also where the new Bravur Team Heritage line finds its home.

Design and Aesthetic

The Team Heritage watches celebrate dominant cycling teams from history, blending color, texture, and exceptional craftsmanship. The only familiar Bravur element is the logo and the cycling tie-in; otherwise, the design is entirely new. The 37mm case showcases complementary finishes, with a vertically brushed bezel, satin-finish main case, and polished bevels. The crown guards blend seamlessly from the right side, protecting the perfectly sized screw-down crown that ensures 100m of water resistance.

Wearability

On the wrist, the watch wears effortlessly. While some may prefer larger cases, the 37mm case, 44.6mm lug-to-lug, and 11.4mm thickness create an ideal wrist presence for those who appreciate smaller watches. The soft lugs’ turndown and the fitted quick-release FKM rubber strap, featuring an embossed cycling cap pattern and custom buckle, enhance comfort and style.

Versatile Options

The Team Heritage models are available in a black PVD case with options for rubber, perforated leather, or mesh bracelets at no additional cost. The steel case paired with a color-matched rubber strap stands out as the best choice. Despite the 18mm strap limitation, the proportions suit the design perfectly.

Distinctive Dials

Each of the three Team Heritage models features a unique dial that integrates team colors. The PEU model, in particular, stands out for its subtlety, with a central checkerboard embossing and raised hour markers outlined in green, nodding to the BP logo. The black and white checkerboard motif enhances legibility, while the split-finish hands ensure visibility in any light.

Quality Movement

Underneath the screwed-down caseback, which features a cycling cap in relief, lies the Swiss automatic Sellita SW200 caliber. This movement, known for its reliability and ease of servicing, beats at 28,800 and offers a 41-hour power reserve.

Conclusion

While the Grand Tour chronographs are impressive, the Bravur Team Heritage line represents the brand’s best model yet. It combines cycling-inspired elements perfected over four generations with a new, attractive case design and a less cluttered dial. Priced at $1,195 USD, the Bravur Team Heritage watches are a must-have for cycling enthusiasts and watch collectors alike.
