Reviving a Motorsport Icon
TAG Heuer has unveiled the Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph, a timepiece that pays homage to its rich motorsport legacy while embracing modern watchmaking advancements. This model reintroduces the rattrapante (split-seconds) complication to the Monaco line, a feature that allows timing of two separate events simultaneously—a nod to TAG Heuer’s history in precision timekeeping for racing.
Innovative Materials and Design
The watch boasts a 41mm case crafted from grade 5 titanium, offering both strength and lightness. Its semi-skeletonized dial, protected by a sapphire crystal, reveals the intricate mechanics beneath, including the TH81-00 movement developed in collaboration with Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier. This movement operates at 36,000 vibrations per hour and provides a 65-hour power reserve.
Aesthetic Details Rooted in Racing
Design elements such as the checkered pattern on the movement bridges and the red or blue accents on the dial draw inspiration from the world of Formula 1. The watch is available in two versions, each featuring a unique color scheme that reflects the dynamic spirit of racing. Motor Sport Magazine
