Zenith Unveils Defy Skyline Americas Limited Edition at SIAR

October 23rd 2024

The Defy Skyline collection by Zenith is known for its special editions, created in collaboration with artists, watch blogs, cities, causes, and boutiques. The latest addition to this renowned range is the Zenith Defy Skyline Americas limited edition, which was recently introduced at the Salón Internacional Alta Relojería México (SIAR) watch show. Limited to just 100 pieces, this striking watch is available exclusively in North and South America.

Design and Craftsmanship

Crafted in sleek black ceramic, the 41mm case of the Defy Skyline Americas features Zenith’s signature dodecagonal bezel. The watch’s monotone exterior is enhanced with green and gold accents, lending it a bold yet elegant look. The ceramic material not only gives the watch a refined finish but also makes it highly durable, requiring diamond-tipped tools for its precise cutting and decoration.

The watch’s dial is a standout feature, showcasing a deep metallic green sunray finish and engraved rose gold-toned stars. Rose gold-plated hands and hour markers add a luxurious touch, while the green date disk at 3 o’clock maintains perfect color harmony. The overall design is inspired by Zenith’s “double Z” symbol, a nod to the brand’s heritage.

Movement and Functionality

Like other Defy Skyline models, the limited edition Americas model is powered by the in-house El Primero 3620 movement. This high-frequency 5 Hz movement boasts a 60-hour power reserve and features a 1/10th of a second indicator, with the seconds hand on the subdial at 9 o’clock making a full rotation every 10 seconds.

Limited Availability and Price

With only 100 pieces produced, the Zenith Defy Skyline Americas (ref 49.9308.3620/56.I001) is a collector’s item. Priced at $15,500 USD, this watch is available through online boutiques and authorized retailers in North and South America.
