In continuation of its partnership with SORAI (Save Our Rhinos Africa and India), Swiss watchmaker Hublot has unveiled the fourth limited-edition SORAI timepiece as its latest release for 2024. Unlike previous models, this edition uses the Spirit of Big Bang Tourbillon as its foundation, marking it as the most premium SORAI-themed watch to date.
Premium Design with Conservation at Its Core
The Spirit of Big Bang Tourbillon SORAI features a sleek gray ceramic case and a matching camouflage strap. Limited to just 30 pieces, a portion of the sales will be donated to SORAI to continue supporting rhino conservation efforts in Africa and India. SORAI, founded by former cricketer Kevin Pietersen, has been a long-standing partner of Hublot, with previous releases featuring unique colorways such as khaki, green, and African sunset.
A Timepiece Built for Elegance and Performance
This latest release stands out not only for its design but also for its advanced mechanics. The watch features a 42mm tonneau-shaped case, housing the Hublot Caliber HUB6020 manual-wind movement. With a 115-hour power reserve and a 60-second tourbillon, the movement consists of 183 components. The black-finished bridges add to the watch’s monochromatic gray aesthetic, while the sapphire crystals on both sides reveal the intricate inner workings of the timepiece.
Striking Features and Unique Design Elements
The watch’s skeletonized dial allows for an unobstructed view of the movement, with time displayed via off-center hands on the right side of the dial. A rhino motif, characteristic of the SORAI editions, appears at 3 o’clock in a geometric design. The caseback also features the SORAI logo, further tying the design to the conservation cause.
Luxury Meets Purpose
With an official price tag of $110,000, the Spirit of Big Bang Tourbillon SORAI is Hublot’s most expensive SORAI edition yet. Its exclusive design and conservation focus make it a standout in the brand’s lineup, showcasing both luxury and purpose.
