Last year, Breitling introduced a refreshed Avenger collection, a move that quickly solidified its place in the 2023 lineup. Initially launched in stainless steel, this popular collection has now evolved, incorporating new materials and sizes in the brand’s latest 2024 release. Alongside the updated Avenger Chronograph B01 models, Breitling has introduced the striking Night Mission series, crafted from durable black ceramic, making these watches stand out in both aesthetics and functionality.
Key Features of the Night Mission Models
The Night Mission series includes the Breitling Avenger Automatic 42 Night Mission. Made with a 42mm black ceramic case, this model differs slightly from its steel counterpart by featuring a titanium caseback and crown, with a robust water resistance of 300 meters. A curved anti-reflective sapphire crystal protects the dial, which showcases a rugged forged carbon surface adorned with Arabic numerals, adding a utilitarian flair. Powered by the COSC-certified Breitling Caliber 17 automatic movement, the model offers reliable accuracy and a power reserve of around 38 hours.
Enhanced GMT Functionality
The Avenger Automatic GMT 44 Night Mission offers a larger 44mm black ceramic case with an additional GMT complication. The dial features luminous Arabic numerals filled with green Super-LumiNova, while the watch itself is powered by the Breitling Caliber 32 automatic GMT movement, ensuring precision with a 42-hour power reserve. The dark green leather strap enhances its rugged appearance.
New Chronograph Options
Breitling also unveiled new chronograph options in the Night Mission series, available in two sizes: the Avenger B01 Chronograph 42 Night Mission and the larger Avenger B01 Chronograph 46 Night Mission. Each model features a black ceramic case with titanium accents, a sapphire crystal display caseback, and water resistance up to 300 meters. These watches house the brand’s Caliber B01 movement, a COSC-certified chronometer with a 70-hour power reserve.
Pricing and Value
The Night Mission models are priced slightly higher than their stainless steel counterparts due to the black ceramic cases. Prices range from $6,300 for the Avenger Automatic 42 to $9,950 for the Avenger B01 Chronograph 46. This series represents a solid value for collectors looking for rugged and reliable pilot watches with an edge.
