Breitling’s Modern Marvel: The Endurance Pro 38

A Legacy of Innovation

Breitling, a renowned blue-chip luxury brand, consistently delivers high-quality contemporary sport and tool watches. Known for their high-tech quartz movements, models like the Aerospace and Emergency stand out. However, the Endurance Pro series, Breitling’s entry-level collection of multi-purpose sports watches, is equally impressive. Introduced in 2020, the original Endurance Pro models featured 44mm cases. In 2024, Breitling expanded the collection with the new 38mm midsize version, available in five vibrant colorways.

Vibrant New Colorways

The new Endurance Pro 38 lineup includes purple (ref. X83310F61B1S1), pink (ref. X83310D41B1S1), white (ref. X83310A71B1S1), light blue (ref. X83310281B1S1), and red (ref. X83310D91B2S1). While white, blue, and red were part of the full-size Endurance Pro 44 models, the purple and pink variants are fresh additions. Each new model features colored dials and straps, rubberized crown grips, and contrasting rings on the pushers, closely following the design blueprint of the larger 44mm models.

Lightweight and Durable Design

Crafted from Breitling’s proprietary carbon composite material, Breitlight, the Endurance Pro 38 is three times lighter than titanium and six times lighter than stainless steel. The case measures 38mm in diameter and 12.1mm thick, with 18mm lugs and a lug-to-lug profile of 44.7mm. This combination results in a lightweight watch weighing just 26.5 grams (or 49.4 grams with the rubber strap). The new models also feature flat sapphire crystals, bidirectional bezels with compass scales, Breitlight screw-on casebacks, and 100 meters of water resistance.

High-Performance Features

The dials of the Endurance Pro 38 models are scaled-down versions of the 44mm models, featuring Arabic numeral hour markers, three registers, and a date window at 4:30. Designed for athletes, the watches include a pulsometer scale on the chapter ring and Super-LumiNova on the hands and markers for visibility in low light. The chronograph’s three sub-dials include a running seconds register, a 30-minute totalizer, and a 1/10th-second timer.

Advanced Quartz Movement

Powered by the Breitling Caliber 83 thermo-compensated SuperQuartz movement, the Endurance Pro 38 offers superior accuracy, maintaining -/+10 seconds per year. The Caliber 83 is COSC-certified and features a regulation system to counteract temperature fluctuations. Despite its high accuracy, the movement has a battery life of approximately two years.

New Straps and Pricing

The Endurance Pro 38 models come with color-matched rubber straps featuring an updated textured design, resembling the latest Superocean straps. These straps use tang-style buckles made from Breitlight, emphasizing the collection’s lightweight nature. Priced at $3,250 USD, the Endurance Pro 38 is Breitling’s most affordable model. Its smaller size makes it ideal for active wearers who found the original 44mm models too large.

Breitling’s Endurance Pro 38 series successfully combines lightweight construction, vibrant color options, and advanced technology, offering a versatile and attractive option for sports enthusiasts and everyday wearers alike.
